This was a story I read sometime back:
There was a man who visited a circus, during the tour, his curiosity was aroused when he saw a huge elephant held back by a small rope on one of its back legs. "Surely, that big elephant can easily snap that rope any time it wants to?" he asked the circus tour guide.
"Yes, it can, " the guide replied, "When the elephant was still a calf, it was brought up tied to that same rope. The youngster would pull against it until it reached a time it realised it was futile to try. Then, as the elephant grew up, it believed and believes the rope cannot be broken, and it just stopped trying."
We have all been inflicted by failure and cruel discouraging words. It is sad that some parents have so carelessly made demeaning and traumatizing words to the detriment of their children's mental wellness.
Go out and do that thing you have always wanted to do but believed you weren't good enough to do and you are gonna be surprised how amazing you are.
