My father went to the capital city to do his mechanical engineering degree. He stayed at a boarding house for students.

He did very badly on the first term or semester of his course. The daughter of the owner of the boarding house discovered his dismal results and she was not shy to express her opinion over his results.

My father recalled how she insulted and berated him over his results. She said that he will never finish university and he will just end up failing.

My father boiled inside but he kept his silence. The teasing strengthened his resolve to study harder and not to give up. He finished his degree and did succeed.

We all experience our ups and downs. We have failed in many things. But the person who succeeds is not the one who has greater brains or greater strength but greater resolve.

One commentator once said about Mike Tyson (famous American boxing champion), that he does not win his fights in the ring but he wins in his training.
